We weren’t the ones who started the fight. Meaning, it wasn’t that we started the fight. Incidentally, there is an Ayah in this regard in the Qur’an saying: “And it is them who initiated hostilities against you” [Qur’an 9:13]. The Americans are the ones who started the fight. We didn’t attack the American embassy after the [Islamic] Revolution [which started the fight].
