Even before the great [collective] movement by the nation of Iran was seen or was started, the people of Qom rose up [against the oppressor on January 9, 1978]. The movement of the people of Qom was a very influential movement and it shook Iran. All the hearts, which were ready, were engrossed in this opportunity, this possibility, and this reality. And thus the movement had begun. The virtue of the people of Qom was that they immediately understood the point, they immediately recognized the enemy, and they responded right at that starting point [without delay].
